Dies, Digital die cuts, Embossing folders and Other

  • Sizzix Floressa Bigz die (or any flower die cut)

  • Nested Scallop Square digital cutting file from Lori Whitlock

Step 1 CollageSize the Curious Metallic White Gold to 29cm x 14.5cm. Using a digital die cutting machine, cut out the ‘Nested Scallop square measuring 14cm x 14cm from the ‘Paw Prints’ design. Size and cut a square measuring 13cm x 13cm from the Bow Wow back. Round the corners of the yellow square with a corner rounder.

Place the Curious Metallic cardstock lengthwise onto the scoreboard and score at 14.5cm. Carefully fold in half and burnish with the score tool.

Select the ‘journal block’ from the ‘Happy Tails’ Noteworthy pack. Size a smaller rectangular 9cm x 4.2cm from the back of the ‘My Buddy’ paper to fit inside the ‘journal block’, emboss the rectangle with an embossing folder of your choice. Apply sticky tape and stick the smaller rectangle to the journal block. Size a larger rectangle 12cm x 5cm from the ‘Spots’ design to frame the journal block. Round all corners.

Step 2 CollagePaste the scalloped square onto of the card base. Layer the yellow square on top of the scalloped square. Paste the ‘Spots’ rectangle at the top of the yellow square.

Select a collar from the Noteworthy pack. To shorten the collar to fit onto the card, fussy cut the ‘buckle’ part off. Size and re-apply the buckle onto the collar. Paste the resized collar horizontally onto the card.

Using the ‘Floressa’ die or any flower punch, die cut several flower from the different paper. Layer the flowers alternating between the petals of each layer. Punch or cut a circle for the center of the biggest flower. Embellish with rhinestones. Cut and trim a few ribbon swatches. Using a brad setter set brads in the middle of the smaller flowers.

Step 3 CollageDie cut a mini rosette with either a die or create a rosette using the scoreboard. Chalk the edges of the rosette with the French blue chalk ink. Also chalk around the largest flowers middle petal. Assemble the rosette using a glue gun. Paste two short pieces of ribbon at the back of the rosette.

Paste the swatches of cut ribbon in the middle of the journal block with a glue gun. Lace two pieces of ribbon through the ‘journal block’ side openings. Paste the journal block onto the rectangle with Tombow.

Step 4 CollageDie cut 2 banners measuring 9cm x 2.2cm from the 300gsm curious metallic off-cuts with either a die or a die cutting file. (6 Banner set by Lori Whitlock). Distress around the edges with ‘Gathered Twigs’ distress ink. Stamp a different sentiment on each banner with the ‘Gathered Twigs’ distress ink. Apply a bit of Tombow on the top middle of the bottom banner and layer the first on top so both stays in place.

Plan the placement of the flowers to determine the setting of the ‘Noteworthy’ doggie bones, paste the doggie bones as the onto the yellow background.

Size and apply foam tape at the back of all the flowers and rosette.
Paste the two banners onto the journal block and paste the rosette on top with a glue gun. Cut pieces of foam tape and side it underneath the banner-bottom. Press to secure

Step 5 CollageSelect the black puppy from the button set. With a plier carefully cut off the button loop at the back to make the button a flat element. Paste the puppy button as a center of the rosette with a glue gun.Blinkie small
